PALL-X 2-KOLORIT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

PREPARATION:

  1. Sand and prepare the wood floor in accordance to NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) sanding guidelines. More information on these guidelines can be found at www.nwfa.org.
  2. It is recommended to water pop wood before applying PALL-X 2-KOLORIT. As soon as the floor is visibly dry, apply PALL-X 2-KOLORIT stain.
  3. Bring both containers (Comp A&B) to room temperature and stir well before use. Mix 5 parts Part A with 1 Part B (5:1 ratio) in a separate, clean, dry container. May also mix in original open mouth container. Stir thoroughly for 60 seconds to completely blend both parts. One bottle of hardener will activate one can of PALL-X 2-KOLORIT stain.
  4. Apply PALL-X 2-KOLORIT either by buffing, troweling on, or rag on/off.

BUFFER APPLICATION:

  1. See PREPARATION Instructions.
  2. With a gloved hand and a small red or white pad or carpet pad, work product into corners and edges.
  3. Pour a small amount of PALL-X 2-KOLORIT into the center of the buffing pad or carpet pad. Start approximately 2 feet from wall. Work PALL-X 2- KOLORIT into the floor ensuring that the entire floor is covered. Continue to add PALL-X 2-KOLORIT as needed to maintain proper coverage rate.
  4. Allow PALL-X 2-KOLORIT to penetrate for a minimum of 5 minutes but not more than 30 minutes following application.
  5. With a gloved hand and a small white pad or cloth rags, remove excess PALL-X 2-KOLORIT from corners and areas where buffer cannot reach.
  6. Remove excess PALL-X 2-KOLORIT with a white polishing pad or carpet pad under the buffer. When pad is saturated (leaves swirls or slings product), flip pad over and use reverse side or change to a new pad. Multiple pads will be required to remove excess PALL-X 2-KOLORIT.
  7. Buff floor again using a clean white polishing pad or carpet pad to ensure all excess is removed.
  8. See FINISH Instructions

TROWEL APPLICATION:

NOTE: If floor has beveled edges or is hand scraped, DO NOT trowel apply. The buffer application or rag on/off are the preferred methods.

  1. See PREPARATION Instructions.
  2. Pour a 6 – 8 inch pool of PALL-X 2-KOLORIT directly onto the floor. Using a flat, stainless steel trowel (Item #12506), apply PALL-X 2-KOLORIT across the floor. Add additional PALL-X 2-KOLORIT to the puddle as needed.
  3. Allow PALL-X 2-KOLORIT to penetrate for a minimum of 5 minutes but not more than 30 minutes following application.
  4. With a gloved hand and a small white pad or cloth rags, remove excess PALL-X 2-KOLORIT from corners and areas where buffer cannot reach.
  5. Remove excess PALL-X 2-KOLORIT with a white polishing pad or clean carpet pad under the buffer. When pad is saturated (leaves swirls or slings product), flip pad over and use reverse side or change to a new pad. Multiple pads will be required to remove excess PALL-X 2-KOLORIT.
  6. Buff floor again using a clean white polishing pad or carpet pad to ensure all excess is removed.
  7. See FINISH Instructions

Rag on/off Application:

Preferred method for stairs, landings, and harder to reach areas.

  1. See PREPARATION Instructions
  2. Using clean and dry cloth rags, saturate rag with PALL-X 2-KOLORIT and apply vigorously to raw wood.
  3. Allow to penetrate at least 5 minutes but no more than 30 minutes.
  4. Use clean and dry cloth rags to remove excess.
  5. Keep coverage rate around 300 – 500 square feet per liter.
  6. See FINISH Instructions

Finish:

  1. Maintain a coverage rate of approximately 300 – 500 square feet per liter with all application methods listed. Sanding sequence and wood species will affect coverage rates.
  2. Five hour dry/coating time with normal climate conditions of 65 – 75 °F and 50% RH. 12 hour dry/ coating time for white or pastel (containing white pigment). Cooler temperatures and higher moisture may delay dry/coating times. Warmer/dryer conditions may expedite drying time.
  3. PALL-X 2-KOLORIT is a stain and sealer in one application. Apply PALLMANN Finishes on top of PALL-X 2-KOLORIT. PALLMANN Sealers may be applied but not required. PALLMANN® Finish or sealer must be applied within 3 days (72 hours) of staining for adhesion. If after 3 days, apply PALLMANN® PALL-X BOND before applying PALLMANN® Finish.

NOTES:

  • Apply to a small test area before proceeding with the entire job to ensure desired color. If desired, PALL-X 2-KOLORIT colors can be mixed to acheive a custom color. May apply a second coat of PALL-X 2-KOLORIT to darken or enrich color, a second application requires a 12 hour dry time before coating finish on top.
  • Recommended Applicators:  Flat-bladed flexible stainless steel trowel (item #12506), commercial floor buffer with 1” white/beige polishing pad, type of pads will depend on application method; non-pretreated stain resistant carpet pads; clean and dry rags or cloths.
  • While buffing, work backwards out of the job area to insure that all footprints are removed.
  • May apply a second coat of PALL-X 2-KOLORIT to darken or enrich color.
  • Tools and applicators should be cleaned with PALLMANN® Clean Box wipes.
  • PALL-X 2-KOLORIT (not hardened) can be used hours or days after initial opening. Opened containers should be securely recapped and stored in a cool location until reused. KEEP FROM FREEZING.

WARNINGS:

  • DO NOT recap PALL-X 2-KOLORIT after hardener has been added as a vapor pressure explosion will occur.
  • Sanding dust of oxygen-drying systems are a fire risk! After conclusion of sanding, the sanding dust must be soaked with water and disposed of in tightly sealed, air tight, fire proof containers!
  • Contact of the product with pads or textile materials produces a risk of spontaneous combustion. Soak any cloths, pads, etc. with water and keep / dispose in tightly sealed, air tight, fire proof containers.
