PALLMANN P104 TURBO PRIMER / MOISTURE VAPOR RETARDER
Single-component polyurethane primer/moisture vapor retarder for use on wood, gypsum and concrete subfloors prior to installing hardwood floors.
One Coat Application: PALLMANN P104 TURBO will accommodate resilient and hardwood floor installations over concrete substrates with moisture levels up to 90% RH (ASTM F 2170-09) or up to 12 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. per 24 hours (ASTM F1869). The coat thickness must be a minimum of 5 mils wet film thickness, applied as a consistent, closed layer.
Wood Substrates: PALLMANN P104 TURBO can be used on OSB, plywood, particle board, and wooden planks that are approved by the flooring manufacturer as acceptable substrates for flooring installation. PALLMANN P104 TURBO will control moisture imbalance between flooring and wooden substrates containing up to 20% moisture content, not exceeding a 10% moisture content differential. Only one coat may be applied to any wood substrate.
Two Coat Application: PALLMANN P104 TURBO will accommodate resilient and hardwood floor installations over concrete substrates with moisture levels up to 98% RH (ASTM F 2170-09) or up to 18 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. per 24 hours (ASTM F1869). The total coat thickness (both coats combined) must be a minimum of 10 mils wet film thickness, applied as consistent, closed layers.
Radiant Heat Systems: This application method can be used over concrete substrates with radiant heat systems, accommodating moisture levels up to 85% RH (ASTM F 2170-09) or up to 6 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. per 24 hours (ASTM F1869). The total coat thickness (both coats combined) must be a minimum of 10 mils wet film thickness, applied as consistent, closed layers.
Applications
- OSB, plywood, particle board, and wooden planks
- Wooden substrates containing up to 20% moisture content, not exceeding a 10% moisture content differential. Only one coat may be applied to any wood substrate.
- Moisture vapor retarder over concrete substrates up to 98% RH
- Concrete, portland cement and gypsum underlayments, well bonded adhesive residues (including water soluble adhesive residues), and metal surfaces
- Radiant floor heating systems
- Absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces
Properties
- One component – Ready-to-use
- Moisture-cured polymers – Excellent surface consolidation/strenghening, dust encapsulation, & moisture transfer reduction
- Strong surface penetration – Increases adhesive bond & coverage rate
- Moisture vapor retarder – Compensates for 10 point differential between wood subfloor and wood flooring
